Durham Triathlon Club is a welcoming multisport community focused on swim, bike and run training for athletes of all levels. The club offers coached sessions, group rides, track and open-water swims, junior development and race-day support. With an active membership of around 170 members spread across about 10 teams, the club balances competitive squads with beginner-friendly programs and social training options.
Training is structured to suit individuals aiming to improve technique, build endurance or prepare for triathlon, duathlon and relay events. Weekly sessions include coached swim sets, coached bike intervals, run sessions and brick workouts that combine disciplines. The club also organises social rides, timed trials and regular coached clinics that focus on transition skills, race strategy and injury prevention. Volunteers and experienced coaches foster a supportive atmosphere for newcomers and seasoned competitors alike.
Based in Brancepeth (DH7 8DB), a village near Durham with countryside routes and close city access.
To keep the club running smoothly, Durham Triathlon Club relies on SportMember for core administration and member engagement. The platform helps us manage registrations, allocate training squads, coordinate coaches and publish session schedules. SportMember also streamlines event sign-ups and provides clear communication channels so members always know when and where activities take place.
“SportMember has simplified our admin and helped our volunteers spend more time on coaching and community building — we’re very happy with the software.”
If you’re considering joining, you’ll find accessible entry points whether you’re new to triathlon or training for your next race.
